Valentine Excitement and a FREEBIE!

This packet is filled with activities using a Valentine theme. The activities build on curriculum and common core skills. There are activities for centers, whole groups, partners and independent. Each subject area is covered. Let's take a peek!!

The crafts are so cute and so simple.  Patterns are available.
Sorry about the red underline above BUT.... I guess spell check does not recognize "toad"ally!!

Here are just a few of the activities.  I think the vocabulary cars are so cute and I use the page included above to mark my word work center.

The math activities are ideal for partner games and more.  There are three different data collection activities.  I also included a helpful hints page for those who need it.
Each game includes a record keeping sheet for you to check for accuracy!

I love encouraging students to use text to gather information.  These activities are perfect because the students can underline text and vocabulary they are not familiar with.  Here are a couple samples.

Check out some of the creative writing activities.  These are perfect for center work.  Again the page above can be used to mark your writing center.

And look at these delightful reading suggestions!!
Each story has comprehension activities to follow the read aloud.

There Was An Old Lady Who Swallowed a Rose...Sequence, vocabulary

The Night Before Valentine's Day...Compare and contrast, writing first/next/last
Ballad of Valentine...So/But
Arthur's Valentine...Sequence, Definition
Will You Be My Valentine...story elements
The Day it Rained Hearts...Character Study

Math Magic...Patterns

There is a mini book for each student filled with informational text about Valentine's Day.  It is followed by T/F followed by a KWL.

The packet ends with activities that can be used for morning eye openers or I am finished what now!!
